Aaron Leroy Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away at his home Tuesday, June 23, 2020. He was 75 years old. Leroy was born January 15, 1945. He was an entrepreneur that had a hand in almost everything. He enjoyed music and loved singing. Leroy was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Eva Byrd; siblings, Murray Byrd, Mason Byrd, Harold Byrd, Nettie Walley, Isabelle Nelson, and Betty Rivers; and grandson, Jeremiah Salinas. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Neta Byrd; children, Jack Eric Byrd (Lynn), Reese Johnston (Wendy), Chasity Salinas (George), and Shane Johnston; grandchildren, Erika, Jack, Thomas, Tavy, Ashton, Bryanna, Layla, and Myah; six great grandchildren; siblings, Margie Sullivan, Mary B. Byrd (Lem), Audrey Byrd, and Windell Byrd (Donna); a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Friday, June 26, 2020, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Brewi and Rev. George Weaver officiating.
