Agnes Elvera Echols

December 2, 1934 — December 20, 2024

McIntosh, Alabama

Agnes Elvera Echols, born on December 2, 1934, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2024, at Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle. A devoted Christian and a true prayer warrior, Agnes leaves behind a legacy defined by her unwavering faith and a deep love for her family.

Agnes was a proud mother to her five children: Erma Covington (Clifton), Quinnie Echols, Jr. (Charlene), Kent Echols (Kelly), Hilda Echols (Rick), and Lila Echols (Christopher). She cherished her role as a grandmother to her seventeen grandchildren and was further blessed with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Agnes was also a loving sister to Benjamin Reed (Doris) and Esther Stewart, and her family circle extended to numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Throughout her life, Agnes found joy in the simple pleasures. She loved listening to gospel music, which inspired her spirit and strengthened her faith. Shopping trips with her sister, Esther, were a cherished pastime, and she delightfully reminisced about the travels she shared with her daughter, Erma, during the years her grandson, Jamie, served in the army.

Her greatest pride came from putting her faith and trust in the Lord and the love she held for her children and grandchildren. Agnes's devotion to her family and her belief in the goodness of God were the cornerstones of her life.

Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Quinnie Echols, Sr., and four of her children: Elsie Weaver (Robert Tim), Maxine Covington (Ted), Frances Echols (Randy), and Lisa Echols (Billy Joe). She was also predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Delphine Reed, as well as her siblings Elvin Reed, Gene Reed, Noel Reed, and Roy Reed.

Agnes Elvera Echols will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and faith. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service at Magnolia Holiness Church with Bro. Jr Long, Bro. Joe Sullivan, Bro. Roy Evans and Bro.
