Albert "Bud" Patrick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away October 8, 2024, at Thomas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 21, 1942, Bud lived a life rich with love and laughter, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Bud was married to Lavern Patrick for 61 wonderful years, showcasing a partnership filled with joy and deep affection. Together, they built a beautiful family that became the center of Bud's world. He is survived by his children, Sheila Bolton (Wendell), Rhonda Smith (Clay), Steven Davis (Monica), Sean Patrick (Tammy), Dewayne Patrick (Patti), Tracie Odom, and Tony Patrick (Brenda). Bud took immense pride in his eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly.
Known for his great sense of humor and a personality that radiated warmth, Bud was a jokester and a talkative soul who never met a stranger. He was kind and giving, embracing the outdoors with a passion for Alabama football, hunting, fishing, camping, and family gatherings. His ability to bring people together and create joyful memories will be remembered fondly.
Bud treasured his relationships with his siblings, including Mittie Schwarz, Mavis Hines, Betty Jimerson, Sue Williamson (Billy), and Jamie Patrick (Shirley). He also shared a unique bond with Delvon Wilkins, whom he referred to as his sister at heart. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends will carry on his legacy, each holding a unique memory of the love he shared.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Daffie Patrick; his sister, Minnie Lee Sawyer; siblings Cora Smith, Carl Patrick, and Clarence "Scrap" Patrick; and his beloved grandson, Chandley Patrick.
A visitation will be held on October 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Bro. Mike Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Chapel Cemetery. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. The family invites all who knew Bud to join them in celebrating his life and the memories he leaves behind.
