Alex Jeffrey Horton

Alex Jeffrey Horton, known to his family and friends as Jeff, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was only 56 years old. Jeff was born to Ann and Warren Horton of Tanner Williams, Alabama. Jeff was a graduate of Baker High School. He worked for Spire Energy as a service technician. He was a loving husband, father, Pops, son, brother, uncle and friend. Jeff was a lover of Key lime pie, oysters, and making people laugh. He had a heart of gold. Jeff was always helping people. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his wife and best friend of 25 years, Penny. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren. He is survived by his wife, Penny; their two daughters, Ashleigh and Alex; his grandchildren, Jaxon, Tanner, Cove and Talon; his mother, Ann; his three brothers, PeeWee, Perry and Carl; and his numerous nieces and nephews. A wake will be from 6-9pm Friday, August 20, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11am Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gulfcrest Cemetery.
