Alex Zena Weaver

Alex Zena Weaver, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was 69 years old. Alex enjoyed cooking and tending to his garden, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandchild. In his spare time, Alex enjoyed watching Fox News and playing with his dogs. Alex was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Johnston; his fathers, Ike Johnston and Zena Orso; his brother, Ike Johnston; and sisters, Janelle English and Liz Orso.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Liz Weaver; son, Alex James Weaver (Lisa); grandchildren, Kaleigh Edwards (Chase), Alexis Weaver, Landon Weaver; great-grandchild, Luca; siblings, Patricia Rivers (Chip), Diane Helvin (John), Shirley Orso, Kitty Beasley (Bill), and Rosco Orso (Lonna); a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Lighthouse of Praise Church with Rev. Ken Davis and Rev. Anthony Rivers officiating.
