Anthony Dwight Byrd “AD”, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, peacefully at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, with his family by his side.
Dwight, known throughout the community as “AD”, enjoyed spending time driving his truck riding up and down hwy 96 looking for cans and stopping to visit with his friends. He loved his family very much, especially his little nieces and nephews that would come by the house. He liked to joke and play with them. He was a big Alabama Football and New Orleans Saints fan. AD loved watching old tv shows and listening to 95 KSJ. He truly lived his life to the fullest and will be greatly missed.
AD was preceded in death by his child, Baby Byrd; parents, Vernon and Clara Byrd; sisters, Ella Byrd, and Margaret McDonald.
He is survived by his brothers, Douglas Byrd (Billie), Roland Byrd (Linda), and Nelson Byrd; sister, Pam Frazier (Ricky); a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Jackie Weaver and her family.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until the 3pm funeral service Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. George Weaver, Rev. Dunford Cole, and Rev. Chuck Nordstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
