Ava Lee Minchew

Ava Lee Minchew, 54, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Springhill Memorial Hospital. Ava Lee loved fishing and camping with her family and friends. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. Ava Lee enjoyed raising her chickens, turkeys, peacocks, guineas, quail and her little dog, Saban. She loved being with her children but most of all her grandchildren. Ava Lee was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon Tillman and her father, Robert Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 15 years, Dennis L. Minchew; children, Amanda Orso (Matt), Brent Tillman, Brandy Minchew (Levi) and Robert Minchew (Haley); mother, Ava Jewel Walker; siblings, Cynthia Blankinchip (Bubba), Barbara Smith (Daniel), Little Robert Walker (Janice), Mark Walker (Donna) and Daniel Walker; grandchildren, Brien, Jersey, Tate, Tripp, Piper, Pacey, Paden, Parker and Levi; other relatives and friends. A wake will be Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Don Lee officiating.
