Bertha Orso

Mrs. Bertha Orso, age 78, a native and resident of Mount Vernon, AL, died Monday, January 25, 2010, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was a housewife and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Joe Z. Orso of Mt. Vernon; one son, Russell Byrd of Mount Vernon; four daughters, Peggy Cole of Citronelle, Bonnie Byrd, Priscilla Rivers and Lois Dudley, all of Mt. Vernon; sister/daughter, Nora Byrd and sister, Juanita Johnston, both of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Everett Rivers and Felton Rivers, both of Mount Vernon; 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle with Rosary being recited at 5:45 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon with Rev. John Coghlan as Celebrant. Interment will be at Byrd Cemetery.
