Billy Joe Cooper, a native and resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Saad Hospice Facility. He was 78 years old. Billy Joe was the son of the late Robert and Alice Cooper. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked in satellite communications in the Signal Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Karen Cooper and brothers, Dempsey Cooper and Hulen Cooper. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Kathy Chipman, Jacqueline Harcrow (Dan), Rita Bailey (Donnie), Diane Group (Kent), and Christie Palazzolo (John); son, Kenny Cooper; grandchildren, Nicole, Krystina, Tiffany, Danny, Sierra, Derek, Chris, David, Joey, Mike, Taylor, Johnny and Hannah; great-grandchildren; siblings, Toney Cooper, Lois Joiner, Jean Bowden, and Sylvia Winkle; other relatives and friends. A Wake will be from 6-9 pm Monday November 15, 2021 at Lockler Memorial Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be at 11am on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at Lockler Memorial Baptist Church with Rev.
