Billy Joe Goldman, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at Providence Hospital. He was 91 years old. Billy was born August 26, 1930, to the late Jessie and Laura Goldman. Billy Joe was devoted to the city of Citronelle, having served many roles throughout his life. He was a Charter Member of Memorial Baptist Church, he was one of the founding members of the Citronelle Rescue Unit, and he served as Chief for the Citronelle Volunteer Fire Department. While serving his community. Billy Joe also worked at Andrews Hardware for over 50 years, helping the community with their hardware needs. In his spare time, Billy Joe enjoyed turkey hunting, fishing, and growing his vegetable garden.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Freida Goldman; daughter, Loretta Lott; grandson, Marcus Goldman; and siblings, Lena Mae Andrews, Arvinese Taylor, Jessie Goldman, and Holly Goldman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Orvis Joe Goldman (Angela); grandchildren, Joanna Delaney (Cliff), April Brown, Amanda Sullivan (Johnathan); greatgrandchildren, Bryan Goldman (Savannah), Rebecca Goldman, Tanner Brown, Ben Brown, Jackson Delaney, Joe Lawrence Delaney, Cooper Naugle, and Loretta Elizabeth Naugle; great-greatgrandchildren, Layni, Bennett, and Brooklyn; sister, Nita Lovett; brother, Charles Ray Goldman; and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating.
