Bruce Edward McDonald, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away, Wednesday, November 09, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was 52 years old. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, on December 23, 1963, to James and Wilethal McDonald. Bruce attended Citronelle High School and was part of the graduating class of 1982. After school, he became a certified home builder. Bruce enjoyed spending his spare time with his family and friends who he loved dearly. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilethal McDonald; and nephew, Jamie McDonald. He was a proud father of his son, Dr. Tony Weaver (Jenny); and daughters, Krystal Olivier Weaver (Glen) and Nancy Byrd. Others left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Abriella, Bransten Cruz, Kryah, and Kohyn; sisters, Jackie Weaver and Rene McDonald; brother, John McDonald; nephews Larry Weaver, John “JJ” McDonald; niece, Misty Byrd (Robert); and many other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Bruce beginning at 6pm Friday, November 11, 2016, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be 11am Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Nobles officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
