Carrie Belle Rivers, 85, a resident of McIntosh, AL passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Springhill Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Rivers was instrumental in starting the Exceptional Children Foundation in Washington County and served on the board of directors, worked at Vanity Fair for several years and attended Rivers Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by sons, Jesse Rivers and Danny Rivers. For 70 years she was wife and homemaker to her beloved husband, Dan Rivers; children, Morris Rivers, Maxwell A. (Nyoka) Rivers, Sr., Rebecca A. Rivers, Marian V. Rivers, Connie B. Rivers, Lillie W. (Gary) Steiner; grandchildren, Junior, Elisha, Jesse, Kristin, Daniel, Brad; great grandchildren, Aaron, Patrick, Lauren, Trey, Trent, Tanner, Matt, Trevor, Brayden, Kamryn, Addelyn, Delsin, Caiden, Danny, Tyler, Rave; great great grandchildren, Kyla, Mason; brother, Howard (Shelia) Reed, Jr.; other relatives and friends. A wake will be held 6-9pm Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2pm Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Rivers, Rev.
