Charles Carmen Chambliss, 70, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at his residence. Carmen was a commercial fisherman and worked many years fishing the Tombigbee, Alabama, and Mobile Rivers with his daddy. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan and enjoyed watching westerns, and wearing his western wear. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Meinhardt, sister, Mary Saunee, and brother Collins Reid. Carmen is survived by his brothers; Conrad Reid (Marsha), John Herman Meinhardt, Jr. (Gwen), and Walter Meinhardt (Cindy); sisters, Ida Walker (Roy) and Roma Etheredge (Larry); other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. John Coghlan officiating.
