Charlotte Ann Hobbs Rivers

September 22, 1947 — December 3, 2023

Charlotte Ann Hobbs Rivers, a beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2023. Born on September 22, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama to Sidney and Mary Hobbs, Charlotte's life was filled with love and devotion to her family.

Throughout her career, Charlotte worked as a manager at various restaurants for many years. She was known for her hard work and dedication in ensuring that customers had memorable dining experiences. Her exceptional management skills and commitment to excellence were admired by both her colleagues and patrons.

Although she achieved great success in her career, Charlotte considered being a grandmother as her most important job. Her love for her child and grandchildren was limitless, and she embraced this role with unwavering devotion. She poured her heart into creating treasured memories with them, always cherishing every moment spent together.

In addition to being a devoted caregiver, Charlotte possessed a kind and giving nature that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her independent spirit was matched only by her profound compassion for others. Charlotte had a servant's heart, like her savior, and would go above and beyond to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Charlotte's interests were as diverse as her character. She found solace in listening to old music, engaging in competative card games, and occasionally spending peaceful nights fishing at Dauphin Island Pier. Her genuine passion for Alabama Crimson Tide football made her an avid fan of the team throughout the years.

On December 9, 2023, family and friends will gather at Living Word Church in Citronelle, Alabama to honor her at a "Celebration of Life" service. This event will start at 11:00 AM to remember the lasting impact she had on those around her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Rivers, and her parents, Sidney and Mary Hobbs.

She is survived by her cherished daughter, Jennifer Kerr (Richard), and her adored grandchildren, Emma Parnell (Joseph), Abby Rutland, and Ryan Kerr. Charlotte also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Marsha Hobbs, Nancy Booth (Nelson), and Marcus Hobbs (Karen), along with many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched dearly.

Charlotte Ann Hobbs Rivers will be forever remembered for her caring nature, independent spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through her family. May she rest in the arms of Jesus, as the memories of her live on in our hearts.
