Cheryl Gwen Weaver, born on July 5, 1958, departed this world unexpectedly on September 16, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a vibrant life, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of those knew her. Cheryl devoted 25 years of service to OC's Quick Stop, where she made a multitude of life-long friends. Her outgoing personality and ability to connect with people meant that she never met a stranger, often bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.
A woman of great humor, Cheryl loved to tease those around her, and her joyful spirit will be fondly remembered by all. She cherished time spent with her family, engaging in hobbies that included going to concerts, shopping, dancing, traveling, and embarking on unforgettable cruises.
Cheryl was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were among her greatest accomplishments. She is survived by her special friend, Aubrey Weaver; her children, Brent Weaver (Arlene), Charlie Lofton, Ronnie Taylor (Kristi), and Amanda Hill (Scoot); and her grandchildren, Breanna (Tyler), Megan, Cheyenne, Cole, Missy Kay, Ariel, Ava, Nathan (Cassidy), Halle, Carley, Kyler, and Avery. Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Malakai, Nehemiah, Zaiden, and Parker; her aunt/sister, Donna Rivers (Stevie); special aunt, Aunt Rachel; as well as her special niece and nephew, Wendy Lambert (David) and Andrew Rivers. Cheryl also held close relationships with her special cousins, Regina Gale, Charlotte, Bonnie, and Cindy, and her special friends, Theresa, Sam, and Donna, alongside many other relatives and friends. Also, the family would like to give a special thanks to Aubrey, his children, grandchildren, and his family for their love and support throughout the years.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Joy; her father, Alfred Weaver; and her grandparents, Charlie and Lucille Sullivan, and Bufkin and Margaret Weaver.
A wake will be held in her honor on September 19, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following day, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Toomey, Bro. Eddie Rivers, Bro. Jackie Snow, and Bro. Eddie Stringfellow officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Cheryl's memory will forever live in the hearts of those she has touched, her legacy of love, laughter, and friendship serving as a guiding light for her family and friends.
