Clarence Wayne Rivers

Clarence Wayne Rivers, a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, at Providence Hospital. Born on August 24, 1961, Clarence lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Clarence will be fondly remembered for his unwavering commitment to his craft as a carpenter. His skillful hands brought forth incredible creations that will continue to inspire awe and admiration for generations to come. Beyond his professional achievements, Clarence found true joy in spending time with his family and friends. The moments shared together were always filled with laughter and love.

In his leisure time, Clarence indulged in one of his favorite passions – watching movies. It was during those quiet movie nights that he allowed himself to be transported to different worlds and embraced the beauty of storytelling. He also enjoyed engaging in friendly debates with his beloved baby brother, Johnny. These spirited arguments were testaments to the strong bond they shared as siblings.

Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Josh Matthews; parents, Cloyd and Cora Rivers; siblings, Maggie Weaver, Chester Rivers, Mary Moss, Nancy Rivers, and Cloyd Rivers, Jr. He is survived by his children, Bryce Wood (Jessica) and Stephanie Havelin (Bo); four grandchildren; siblings, Kesler Weaver, Sr. (Myrtle), Irene Jordan (Joe), and Johnny Rivers; special companion, Ora Savage; other relatives and friends.

To honor the life of Clarence a visitation service will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on August 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Rev. Dean Hopkins and Rev. Dwight Weaver officiating. Burial to follow Byrd Cemetery. 

Clarence Wayne Rivers will be remembered not only for his remarkable craftsmanship but also for the immeasurable love and warmth he brought to the lives of those around him. His zest for life, genuine kindness, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire us all.
