Cleve P. Reed- A native and lifelong resident of McIntosh, AL, peacefully exchanged this life for eternity on Thursday, July 01, 2010 at his home. Born January 14, 1942, he was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Echols and Judson Reed. Mr. Reed was a former Tribal Chairman "Chief" of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians of South Alabama. He dedicated the majority of his adult life to helping improve the social standing and recognition of his people, who he genuinely loved. Until his death, he currently served as the Chairman of the Choctaw Tribal Counsel. Prior to retirement, Mr. Reed worked for many years as a salesman and truck driver for Blossman Gas, Inc. He was also a member of the carpenters union as well as a former business owner. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of ten years, Stacey Reed; two sons, Errol (Jonnie) Reed of Wilmer, AL and Nicky (Jennifer) Reed of McIntosh, AL; three daughters, Sherry (Earl) Dean and Karen (Wesley) Burton, and Harmony Reed, all of McIntosh, AL; stepson, Dave Reed of McIntosh, AL; five brothers, Willie Reed of McIntosh, AL, Carl Reed of Chunchula, AL, Matthew Reed of Eight Mile, AL, Donald Reed of Citronelle, AL and Chester Rivers; 21 grandchildren, Brandon, Kerry, Quinton, Cailey, Destiny, Nikki, William, Colby, Heather, Caitlin, Connor, Landon, Preshus, Richard, Brooklyn, Douglas, Dave (Jr.), Jaizy, Tephney, Haley and Cheyenee; 4 great grandchildren, Kynlee, Brandon (Jr.), Owen and Beverly; former wife of 34 years, Carol Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A wake will be Sunday, July 4, 2010 at 6 PM at McKenley's Holiness Church in McIntosh until the Funeral Service at 2 PM on Monday, July 5, 2010, with Rev. Jackie Snow officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
