Curtis Cole, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Friday, February 03, 2023, peacefully at Crenshaw County Hospital in Luverne, Alabama, with his family by his side. Throughout his whole life, Curtis was never at a loss for words with his funny sense of humor for just about any occasion; what ever came up came out. His children would always say ''he's a mess,'' because they knew just how zany he could be. He enjoyed watching football and telling stories. His sharp memory allowed him to recall stories about the community from times when he was growing up all the way to the present. He knew just about everybody from North Mobile County to South Washington County, and his charismatic storytelling could capture the attention of everyone around. There is no doubt he will be greatly missed by all in the Calcedeaver community. Special thanks to Larry Weaver, Steve and Nancy Snow.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Dunford and Evie ''White'' Cole; daughter, Peggy Cole; siblings, Vesta Weaver, Delia Weaver, Ester Cole, Charlie Cole, and Roger Cole.
He is survived by his children, Pamela (Ricky) Frazier, Lynn (Perry) Lofton, Joe (Tammy) Cole, Brenda (Mack Jr.) Byrd, Sherri (Joe) Smith, Dunford (Brandy) Cole, and Clara Cole, (Leslie Trotter); sisters, Barbara (William) Baugh and Voncille Byrd; brother, Wayne Cole; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 14 great- great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am Mass of the Resurrection Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, Alabama, with Rev. John Coghlan and Rev.
