Dave Weaver, Jr.

Dave Weaver, Jr., born on February 10, 1967, passed away peacefully at his home on January 24, 2025. He was a loving father, devoted son, and cherished brother, whose laughter and joyful spirit brought warmth to all who knew him.

From 1996 to 2004, Dave served in the Navy Reserve, embodying a sense of duty and patriotism that he held dear throughout his life. His love for sports was evident; he was a dedicated fan of NASCAR racing, the Miami Dolphins, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Additionally, he possessed an avid admiration for baseball and spent many enjoyable afternoons at the casino and hanging out with friends.

Dave's personality shone bright as he loved to laugh and crack jokes, leaving a lasting impression on his family and friends. His proudest accomplishments revolved around his family, especially his children, Brett Weaver and Ariel Weaver-Toomey (Skylar), who will carry forward his legacy of joy and humor.

He is survived by his parents, Tex and Alpha Byrd; his siblings, Nick Byrd, Terrell Weaver (Michelle), Tex Byrd, Jr. (Deborah), Sadie Weaver (Gene Jr.), Octavia Collins (Chad), Wendy Byrd Johnston (Reese), Clayton Lofton (Amanda), and David Lofton (Christia); second parents, Glen and Hazel Weaver; mother of his children, Marsha Chestang; as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Dave Weaver, Sr.; his grandparents, Leroy and Della Weaver, Elemuel and Sadie Lofton, and Leamon and Octavia Byrd.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery. 

In celebrating Dave's life, we remember his unwavering love for his family and the joy he found in every moment shared with those he cherished. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth to all who were fortunate to know him.
