David Edmond Toomey

David Toomey, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, resident of Saraland, AL, died peacefully on July 4th, 2022, at the age of 79 with his family by his side.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lille Toomey; his son Ronnie Toomey (Leslie); grandchildren Jason Shereck (Elizabeth), Tiphanie Johnston (Payton), and Brother T.P Toomey (Susan). He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Maggie Toomey, brothers Bruce & Floyd O'Dell Toomey, sisters Emma Jean Mosley & Audry Nell Murphy.

David was born in Aquilla in Choctaw County, AL, on November 23, 1942. David spent most of his days sitting on his porch swing watching the birds eat and fly around his feeders. God and Family were David's main priority. If you had some good ole country meals being cooked, you best believe he would be there waiting with his plate in hand. If you ever needed some kind of home-grown vegetables, David was the one to call - He loved His garden. David was loved and cherished by so many, and he will be greatly missed.

David's love was like no other. He was a pawpaw or daddy to whoever and would never take your love for granted. Blood meant nothing to him, and if you crossed paths him you were automatically family. His hugs were unforgettable, and he was always the person to go to when you needed a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to.

A wake will be held for David from 6pm until 9pm Thursday, July 07, 2022, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, July 08, 2022, at Cedar Creek Holy Church of God with Bro. Donnie Williamson and Bro. Darius Templeton officiating.
