Dillard Glen Covington

November 29, 1947 — March 26, 2023

Dillard Glen Covington, known to many as a pillar of the community, passed away on March 26, 2023, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family at the Springhill Medical Center. Born on November 29, 1947, in Washington County, Alabama, Dillard lived a life dedicated to selflessness, kindness, and love.

Dillard was a man who always had his family members and friends in mind. His kind and loving nature made him the most beloved person in his family, and to everyone who knew him. Dillard will always be remembered for his willingness to help others in times of need. He was a man who could bring a smile to anyone's face, no matter what they were going through.  Most of all, Dillard would do anything he could for the love of his life, his wife, Lena.

Aside from Dillard's dedication to his family and community, he had many passions and hobbies that brought him joy in life. For over 40 years, he served as a Deacon at Magnolia Holiness Church, where he found immense comfort and spiritual fulfillment. Moreover, he was an avid WWE wrestling fan, and he never missed an episode of his favorite shows. In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing with a fresh cup of coffee and traveling to see new places with his family.

Dillard was also a successful businessman, having owned and operated multiple companies throughout his life. He was the Owner-Operator of D&L Timber and D&D Trucking, and he dedicated years of his life to build and grow these companies. He also was the Owner-Operator of the McIntosh Restaurant in his earlier life and a potato farmer. These were outlets for Dillard to not only earn a living but also provide for his family and loved ones.

However, it was Dillard's personal qualities that endeared him most to the hearts of those around him. Dillard will forever be remembered for his joyous spirit, his sense of humor, and his vibrant personality. He was always "the life of the party," and his smile could light up any room he entered. Dillard was a man with a big heart, who knew how to cherish and love those most important to him.

Dillard Glen Covington's passing has left a huge void in the lives of all those who knew and loved him. We will never forget the memories and joy he brought into our lives. With his caring spirit and generosity, he made the world a brighter and more positive place. The lessons that he taught us about kindness, compassion, and humility will forever remain in our hearts. Although he may have left us physically, he will always remain in our hearts and memories, and his legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on through his family and the people he touched throughout his life.
