Donald Alfred Byrd

Donald Alfred Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home. Donald was 74 years old. Donald served his country proudly in the United States Army. He worked as a chipper at the shipyard and at International Paper Company as an operator. He loved hunting and fishing in his spare time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gertrude Byrd; wife, Edwina Byrd; daughter, Tammy Marie Young; and brother, Tyrone Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Emily Pitzulo; son, Jimmy Jacobs; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Kathern Stanley (Roland) and Dorothy Chestang (Elvin); brothers, Robert Byrd (Arlene) and Tyler Byrd (Ida); other relatives and friends. The graveside service will be 11am Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Byrd Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Alabama with Rev. Barbara Brewi and Rev. Robert Byrd officiating.
