Doris Betty Turner, a resident of Deer Park, Alabama passed peacefully in her home on May 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born December 31, 1939 at her family home in Seaboard, Alabama. She was the sixth of eleven children. Betty grew up as a member Bethel Methodist Church in Seaboard. She recalled her family walking to church or traveling by horse and wagon. Betty attended Washington County High School until her senior year. She graduated from Fruitdale High School after moving to Deer Park. Betty married Frank C. Turner on December 24, 1958. Together they had five children as well as raising her two younger brothers. Betty loved spending time working in her flower gardens and enjoying her visiting hummingbirds. She had a love for fishing. She enjoyed collecting angels and displaying them in her home. She was a fan of Elvis and John Wayne. Betty and Frank enjoyed vacationing every year. Some of their favorite destinations include the Smoky Mountains and Walt Disney World. With a generous heart, Betty was a regular donor to St. Jude's and the American Cancer Society as well as many more.
Betty Turner is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Coleman Turner, her son Frank Alan Turner, her parents Warren Webb Sr, and Mary Elizabeth (Gardener) Webb, and her siblings: Ralph, Pearlie, Leona, and Lillie Belle. She is survived by her children: Wayne Turner (Pam), Carissa Coaker (Dwain), Greg Turner (Cindy), Melanie Baxter (Brady). Her grandchildren: Shea, Dane, Amy, Rhonda, Leslie, Jessica, Brooke, Candace, and Christin. 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Siblings: Gracie Odom, Norma Turner, Sadie Dyess, Juanita Webb, Joyce Holland, and Warren Webb.
The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Monday, May 23, 2022, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Tibbles and Rev. Tom Dees officiating.
