Dorothy Renee Martin

Dorothy Renee Martin, a native of McIntosh, Alabama, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She was 79 years old. Dorothy was born March 28, 1938, to Leon and Ella Louise Taylor. She was a member of Oak Park Church of God, and also loved her family church, Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was always devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Martin; daughter, Pearl “Cissy” Perrin; son, Noel Martin; parents, Leon and Ella Taylor; and sisters, Priscilla Lewis and Naomi Byrd. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Richard Orso, Ronnie Orso (Gerry), and Pam Madero (Mike), Fred Hughes (Doris), Bobby Hughes, Jr. (Darlene), and Donna Brockel (Bruce); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; great great grandchild; siblings, Viney Knapp (George), Winnie Kim (Jong), Elizabeth Taylor-Daniel (Cliff), Ray Taylor (Betty), Gene Taylor (Bertlee), Wilford “Chief Longhair” Taylor (Mary), Dr. Alford Taylor, and Leon Taylor, Jr.; and other family and friends. A wake will be held for Dorothy from 6pm until 9pm Monday, April 17, 2017, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev.
