Duane Turner

Mr. Duane Turner, 88, a native and resident of Turnerville, Alabama passed away at his home on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Mr. Turner served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he earned a Bronze Star for brave action. Farming, agriculture and Auburn football was a few of his passions. His vocation for over 35 years as a boilermaker with the Local #112. Mr. Turner was a faithful member and active deacon at Turnerville Baptist Church since the age of 19. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Duane Turner. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Eudelle Merchant Turner; daughters, Rhonda Smith and Tonie Turner Horton; five grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Kasey Smith (Ashley), Leslie Williams (Scott), Kerra Middleton (Shane) and Laci Turner (Marty); twelve great grandchildren; and sister, Juaree Bohannon. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Turnerville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Turnerville Cemetery.
