Dustin Odom

Mr. Dustin James Odom, 21, a native and resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, March 25, 2011 in Mobile. Dustin was a member of Fruitdale Church of the Brethren; he graduated as Salutatorian of Class of 2007 at Fruitdale High School where he served as Point Guard and Team Captain of Fruitdale Pirates basketball team (2004-2007); attended Ciba Chemistry Institute in New York; was a student on the Dean's List at University of South Alabama, majoring in Criminal Justice; member of 2007 Alabama USA Junior Nationals Basketball Team; and was currently employed at Golden Corral in Mobile, AL. He is survived by his wife, Vania Elizabeth Odom, Mobile, AL; father, Bud Odom, Fruitdale, AL; mother, Tammy Odom, Fruitdale, AL; paternal grandfather, Joseph "Bud" Odom, Deer Park, AL; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Odom, Citronelle, AL; maternal grandfather, Rev. Frank Thornton, Fruitdale, AL; maternal grandmother, Willie Thornton, Fruitdale, AL; brother, Mason Tyler Odom, Fruitdale, AL; father-in-law, Edmundo J. Muniz and mother-in-law, Maria E. Gomez, both of Guadalajara, Mexico; and a host of other Relatives and Friends. Visitation for Mr. Odom will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Fruitdale Church of the Brethren, Fruitdale, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from the Fruitdale Church of the Brethren in Fruitdale, AL with Rev. Maurice Price and Rev. Frank Thornton officiating. Interment will be in Thornton Cemetery, State Line, MS.
