Eloize S. Baker, affectionately known as Weezie, passed away on December 17, 2024, at Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. Born on October 29, 1932, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, she spent her life as a homemaker, exemplifying the essence of care and nurturing for her loved ones.
Weezie possessed a quiet independence and was known for her caring and giving personality. Her family was always her proudest accomplishment, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) and Chris (Danielle), and held a special place in her heart for her eight great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Beverly Crowder (Forrest), was her constant companion, and together they shared many memorable outings, including weekly trips to the movies.
An active member of her community, Weezie was very church-oriented and dedicated herself to her faith. She had a passion for crafting and enjoyed spending time working in her yard, where she often found peace and fulfillment. Family outings to eat and attending her grandchildren's baseball games brought her an abundance of joy.
Weezie is survived by her daughter, Beverly Crowder (Forrest); grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) and Chris (Danielle); her eight great-grandchildren; sister, Jenny Jackson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Roy Baker; her mother and father; and her sister, Marilyn Bemis. The bonds forged in life carry on as a testament to her loving spirit.
Visitation will be held on December 22, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home. As family and friends gather to honor Weezie's memory, they will share stories that celebrate her caring nature and the impact she made on all those who knew her.
