Emma Mae Byrd, a resident of Tillman’s Corner, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, at Springhill Medical Center. She was 63 years old. Emma was born December 29, 1956. She worked for the newspaper as well as several restaurants for many years. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Margaret Byrd; and sisters, Mickey Parnell and Pauline Ryan. Those left to cherish her memory include her significant other, Kenny Williams; sons, William Reed, Roy Reed, Jr., Justin Grant Reed, and Solomon Smith; a host of step-children; grandchildren, Aslynn, Alex, Darla, Quinn, Jackson, and Mason; a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Terri Byrd, John Byrd, Donald Ray Byrd, and Elizabeth Raphael; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Saturday, December 05, 2020, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Brewi and Rev. Dunford Cole officiating.
