Ernestine Etheridge Jernigan passed away May 17, 2010. She was born April 12, 1914 in Wawbeek, Escambia County, AL to Fannie Maude and Jonathan Nicholas Etheridge, Sr. When she graduated from Flomaton High School, she was Valedictorian. She graduated Daphne Normal Teachers College and attended Troy and Auburn. She taught school and worked many years at Brookley Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jernigan and sisters, Kate Lois Etheridge, Mary V. Etheridge, Eleanor Young and Melva Dorith. She is survived by a brother, Jonathan Nicholas Etheridge, Jr. of Spanish Fort; Two sisters, Frances Johnson of Mobile and Nell Ree Lambeth of Flomaton; Nephews and nieces, T. Fonde Jernigan, Lillian Sharp, Lynn Kunkel, Jonathan Nicholas Etheridge III, Susan Ross, Kay Arnold, Kim Harrison, Curtis Young, Melvin Jones, Beverly Glenn, Janet Havard, Frances Benkelman, Bob Lambeth and Genie Lambeth; And many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the 11:30 AM Funeral Service on May 20, 2010 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Interment will be at the Methodist Cemetery.
