Mrs. Esther M. Toomey, 102, a resident of Aquilla, AL died Monday, July 09, 2012 at her residence in Choctaw County, AL. Mrs. Toomey is preceded in death by her husband, James T. Toomey; two sons, Elvin Toomey, Paul Toomey; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lee Toomey; great granddaughter, Sarah B. Redding. She is survived by six sons, Charles Toomey, of Silas, AL, James E. Toomey, of Tibbie, AL, Carl Austin Toomey, of Aquilla, AL, Vernon Toomey, of Aquilla, AL, Richard Toomey, of Aquilla, AL, Tom Toomey, of Aquilla, AL; two daughters, Eunice Keener, of Aquilla, AL, Alice Redding, of Semmes, AL; brother, James Cunningham, of Jacksonville, FL; sister, TeOllie Bird, of Citronelle, AL; 10 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Toomey will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2012 in the Aquila United Methodist Church, Choctaw County, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, July 12, 2012 from the Aquila United Methodist Church in Choctaw County, AL with Rev. Sam Lowery and Rev. Richard Messer officiating. Interment will be in Aquilla Cemetery, Aquilla, AL. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro, MS is in charge of arrangements.
