Eugene "Gene" Platt, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Platt, Jr., 71, a native of Chicora, Mississippi and resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was a welder with the Boilermakers Local # 112 for nearly 40 years. Gene was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Citronelle and loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, MaryLou Platt; three children, Ramona J. (Neil A.) Henderson, Capricee C.L. (Eugene) Anderson and Eugene Platt III; four grandchildren, Brett, Meghann, Andrew and Brittany; brother, William Platt; other relatives and friends. The wake will be from 6-9 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 4 pm Monday, September 28, 2015 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating.
