Frances O. Echols, affectionally know as "Fran", passed away on February 4, 2024, at USA Hospital. She was a loving and caring individual whose infectious personality touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Fran will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the honor of knowing her.
Born on February 23, 1957, Fran possessed a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. Her vibrant and feisty nature made her an absolute joy to be around. Fran was known for her fun-loving spirit, always seeking out new adventures and creating everlasting memories with loved ones. She had a deep love for her family and ensured that everyone in her life knew just how much she cherished them.
Fran had a wide array of interests and hobbies that brought immense happiness to her life. One of her greatest joys was spending time at the beach, where she could relax and soak up the sun's warmth. Traveling with both friends and family was also something she cherished deeply—a way to create lasting memories with her loved ones. Additionally, Fran took great pride in looking glamorous by taking meticulous care of her hair and nails, ensuring that she always felt fabulous.
One of Fran's proudest accomplishments was being a mother to her beloved daughter, Kristen Echols. Her unwavering love, support, and guidance were pivotal in shaping Kristen into the remarkable woman she is today. Fran also took on the role of caregiver for her brothers. Her nurturing nature and commitment to family made an indelible impact.
Fran's passing leaves behind a void that can never be filled. She is survived by her dear companion Randy Reed; her devoted daughter Kristen Echols; her loving mother Agnes Echols; and her siblings, Elsie Weaver, Erma Covington (Clifton), Jr Echols (Charlene), Kent Echols (Kelly), Hilda Echols (Rick), and Lila Echols (Christopher). She is also survived by her special nieces, Natalie, Taylor and Avery Nelson; special nephew, Jamie Orso; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Fran was preceded in death by her father, Qunnie Echols; her sisters, Maxine Covington and Lisa Echols; her niece Billie Reed "Nute"; and her nephew, Benjie Covington. Although they may no longer be physically present with us, their spirits will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
A wake will be held on February 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Magnolia Holiness Church. The funeral service will take place on February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Holiness Church with Bro. Ike Reed, Bro. Jr Long, and Bro. Jackie Snow officiating. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Fran's passing left an immense void in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her exuberant personality and unwavering love have touched countless lives throughout the years. Let us remember Fran for the joy she brought into our lives and the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy built on love, kindness, and cherished memories. May she rest in eternal peace.
