Frank Ronald Rankin, Sr. was born May 23, 1927 in Jackson, Mississippi. He went to be with the Lord September 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Mary Allen Rankin, one son Frank, Jr., his wife Karen, and several grandchildren. Frank has been a residence of Citronelle for many years and is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with six palms, continued to be active, and was awarded the Silver Beaver award for leadership in the Mobile Council. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February 1945, and was active in the occupation of Japan. After being commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Mississippi. National Guard, Frank served with the Second Infantry Division in Korea engaging in several major battles. Frank continued in active leadership in the U.S. Army Reserve retiring after thirty-five years’ service with the rank of Colonel. At retirement age, he attended Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, and earned his Bachelor degree in Biblical Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. After being ordained a Priest and Bishop in the Communion of Evangelican Episcopal Churches, he, along with his wife, Mary, established The Diocese of The Gulf Coast. A wake will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:00am. Interment services will be at Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery located near Carthage, Mississippi, on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00pm.
