Fred Burnside, a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on December 13, 1946, Fred was known for his great sense of humor and his unwavering to family and faith.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Fred served his country with honor and dedication. His military service shaped much of his character, instilling in him values of resilience and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
Fred's life was marked by his deep connection to his family and his active involvement in his church, where he inspired others with his devotion. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a steadfast support for his parents, Mitchell and Ruby Burnside, as they aged, demonstrating his caring nature and strong family values.
In addition to his family commitments, Fred found joy in fishing, a passion that brought him peace and allowed him to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. He had a wonderful ability to share laughter and joy, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.
Fred is survived by his sister, Anna Robinette; his children; nieces and nephews; and close relatives and friends who will cherish the memories they created together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Ruby Burnside; his brother, Mitch Burnside; and his nephew, Shawnn Burnside.
The legacy of Fred Burnside will be remembered through his kindness, humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held in his honor on August 29, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Williams, Bro. Gary Pickard, and Bro. Clay Lewis officiating.
