Genelle Stokley

Genelle Stokley, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on July 23, 1934, and lived a life where her faith and family were at the core of her existence. 

Genelle dedicated her life to helping others, a testament to her generous spirit and caring nature. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she cherished the moments spent with them, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She is survived by her three sons, Bo Stokley (Karen), Rick Stokley (Sheila), and Paul Stokley (Michelle); her grandchildren, Dale, Josh, Miranda, Valerie, Melanie, Nikki, Greg, Brandon, and Ken; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Shirley Headley, along with numerous relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth.

Genelle's heart was deeply rooted in her faith, which she considered her proudest accomplishment. She loved reading her Bible and regularly attended church services. In addition to her spiritual pursuits, she enjoyed watching Alabama Football, a passion she shared with her family and friends.

She is now reunited in eternal rest with her husband, William T. “Dub” Stokley, her sons Michael and Ronnie Stokley, and her daughter Kimberly Stokley, who preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held on February 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crawford Baptist Church, located at 3000 Sun Valley Dr, Mobile, AL 36618. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 2:00 PM with Bro. Steven Perry officiating. 

Genelle's life was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
