Geoffrey Dylan Turner, a native and resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Sunday, February 09, 2020. He was 26 years old. In his early years, Dylan fought and overcame a long bout with cancer. He went on to become a math teacher at Citronelle High School where he was also an alumnus of the Class of 2012. He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and eventually became a graduate from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in math. Dylan was a lifelong active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Citronelle where he enjoyed helping with VBS and children’s camp and taking mission trips to Guatemala. Other hobbies Dylan enjoyed were deer and turkey hunting-especially trips with his dad, fishing, attending Alabama football games with family and friends, and, of course, farming. Everyone had to have some of Dylan’s cantaloupes. Dylan cared deeply for the people in his life: his family, his church family, his friends from high school and college, and the students and faculty at Citronelle High School. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by his parents, Randy and Cathy Turner; sister, Natalie “Sissy” Hubbard (Matt); nephews, Brady and Hayden; grandmothers, Eloise Turner, Lydia McGill, and Edith Richardson; fiancee, Allison Roberts; and many other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Dylan from 6pm until 9pm Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3:30pm Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Marvin Robinson, Rev. Stan Clayton, and Rev. Barry Pickering officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Turner, Jamie Willman, Colton Richardson, Conner Griffin, Blair Mayfield, Robby Turner, Chris Turner, and Adam Meinhardt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com. Freeman Funeral Home – Citronelle, Alabama
