Gerald Michael Wade

Gerald Michael Wade, affectionately known as Gerry, passed away on January 13, 2025, at Springhill Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 24, 1954, he was a dedicated husband, father, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gerry was a man of many words, reflecting his passion for communication and connection. He was widely recognized for his willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge. A person of diverse talents, he excelled in numerous fields and was a remarkable teacher, inspiring those around him with his wisdom and compassion.

Gerry is survived by his wife of 12 years, Audrey Wade; his children, Johnathan Gerry Wade, Zachary Michael Wade (Samantha), and Kyla Faye Wade-Smith. He cherished his extended family, which includes Michael Weaver, Rolana Winters, Raino Reed, and Jordan Cordell, along with many other relatives and friends who will hold his memory close to their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Wade, and his stepdaughter, Alanna Cordell. The love and influence Gerry had on those he leaves behind will ensure that his spirit lives on.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on January 18, 2025, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:30 PM.

Gerry Wade was loved and will be incredibly missed by a great number of people. His remarkable life, filled with kindness and inspiration, will forever resonate in the lives of those he touched.
