Gertrude Reed Shepard

Gertrude Shepard, 93, a native of Marengo County and a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama for over 80 years, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She worked in Administration at Searcy Hospital for 47 years. Gertrude loved music and was the organist at her church, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, for many years. She also loved to read and spend time with her cat. Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shepard. Left to cherish her memory is her niece, Betty (Leslie) Schwartz; Grand Nephews, Michael Schwartz and Jamie (Mary) Bush; Special Cousin, Karen (Eric) Lynch; Dear Friends, Bill and Peggy Davies; Loving Caregiver, Delana Roberts; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Monday, April 6, 2015, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. David Cook officiating.
