Gilbert Hudson Landrum, Jr., affectionately known as "Jr.," passed away on April 3, 2025, at USA Health University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 24, 1948, Gilbert lived a life rich in both personal and professional achievements.
For 43 years, he proudly owned and operated Landrum's Body Shop, a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship in the automotive repair industry. His work was not merely a job; it was a reflection of his strong work ethic and commitment to quality service that he extended to every customer who walked through his doors.
Beyond his professional achievements, Gilbert cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His children, Eric Landrum (Tracey) and Robert Landrum (Molly), along with his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, were the pride of his life. He often spoke of how much they meant to him, and he found immense joy in nurturing and being present for them throughout the years. It was in their company that he felt happiest, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
An outdoor enthusiast, Gilbert had a passion for hunting and fishing. He found solace in nature, often exploring the great outdoors. He was also an avid race fan and a devoted supporter of Alabama football, enjoying countless games and races with friends and family.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angie Landrum, and his parents, Gilbert and Ouida Landrum. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the values he instilled in his family.
