Glenn Thomas Byrd

Glenn Thomas Byrd, 73, a native and resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at his home. He was a truck driver. He loved hunting and working and spending time with his family. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ann Byrd; children, Robert Byrd and Jeff Byrd; parents, Thomas and Thelma Byrd; and brothers, Roland Byrd, Charles Byrd, and Ronald Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Steven “Onion” Byrd (Crystal), Thomas “Tic” Byrd, Ray Byrd (Grace), and Jasper “Puddin” Byrd; sisters, Nellie Foster and Vera Rivers (Stan); brother, Chris “Bunker” Weaver (Lettie); grandchildren, Brittany, Steven, Jr., Lyrissa, Drew, Thomas, Eathan, Chase, Brooke, Taylor, EJ, Shanta, Janice, and Lil Charles; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held for Glen at Byrd Cemetery 11am Wednesday, April 22, 2020, with Bro. Bobby Morton officiating. The service will be streamed on Facebook Live for those unable to attend services due to restrictions regarding COVID-19.
