Golden Allen Parnell

Golden Allen Parnell, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was 79 years old. Allen was born March 05, 1942, in Citronelle, to the late Tom and Rosie Parnell. He worked as a welding inspector for many years until retirement. He was also an Auxiliary Police Officer for the City of Citronelle. In his spare time, Allen loved to fish and hunt, he loved being outdoors, he loved playing his guitar, and spending time with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Glynda J. Parnell; daughter, Darlena A. Parnell; brother, Donald “Duck” Henderson (Louise); sister, Millie Hinton; and sisters-in-law, Lynda Patrick (Jimmy), Janice Henderson, Judy Johnson, and Betty Henderson. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Rosie Parnell; and siblings, Reggie Parnell, Bernie Parnell, Bert Parnell, George Washington “GW” Parnell, Jesse Parnell; Charles Henderson, Cleo Henderson, Calvin Henderson, James Henderson, Herman Henderson, Emma Weatherly, and Roxie Lewis. The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12pm funeral service Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Henderson and Bro. Johnny Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brian Henderson, D.J. Jones, Preston Jones, Stephen Byrd, Danny Ray Johnson and Greg Henderson.
