Grable Beatrice Weaver, Momma or Momo, as she was lovingly known to her family, was a kindhearted and selfless woman who always put the needs of others before herself. Born on December 6, 1943, in McIntosh, Alabama, Grable was dedicated to her family, especially her daughter, Nina. On July 31st , at the age of 79, Grable peacefully passed away at her home in McIntosh, Alabama, surrounded by her family.
Grable was a homemaker and loving mother to 9 children, Nina Weaver, Thary (Glenda) Weaver, Floyd (Tara) Weaver, Allen (Debbie) Weaver, Nicole (Danny) Van Cleave, Joanie (Phillip) Younge, Roy (Joni) Weaver, Candies (Walter) Davis, and Kenny (Melanie) Weaver, 33 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Carl V. Reed, Sandra Weaver, Lucille Weaver, Wanda Reed, Ormatha Rester, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leroy Weaver, parents Gaines and Queeney Reed, brothers Martin Reed, Opra Reed, Tex Reed, and sisters Elizabeth Reed and Bertha Reed.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Grable Weaver will take place Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle, Alabama from 6-9 p.m. On August 3, 2023, the funeral service will take place at McKinley Pentecostal Church in McIntosh, Alabama beginning at 2 p.m. with the burial service to follow at Reed’s Chapel Cemetery. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Jackie Snow and Bro. Wilbert Reed with Gavin Davis, Mallie Reed, Chris Weaver, Brett Rivers, Cody Reed, and Brandt Williams as pallbearers. Please keep her family in prayer as they have lost a great pillar in their family.
