Harold Levern “Pee Wee” Byrd, 78, a resident of Mount Vernon, AL passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Levern was a retired boilermaker and member of Simple House of Praise Church. Pee Wee enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Caren Lynn. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 50 years Betty Byrd; son, Brian (Shellie) Rivers; daughters, Tracey (Russell) Byrd, Kimberly (Tad) Douglas, Caren Byrd; grandchildren, Amber, Pat, Russell, Matt, Dylan, Bryanna, Miranda, McKaylie; great grandchildren, Justin, Treyce, Aubree, Paisley; brothers, Prentiss Byrd, Eddie Byrd; sisters, Nelrie Carroll, Lola V. Taylor, Nancy Chestang, Shirley Byrd, Kathryn Harvey; other relatives and friends. A wake will be held 6-9pm Thursday , August 7, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11am, Friday, August 8, 2014 at Simple House of Praise with Rev. Kesler Weaver, Jr. and Rev. Greg Kirkwood.
