Harold Wayne Mason, affectionately known as Wayne, passed away peacefully at his home on April 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 22, 1944, Wayne touched the lives of many with his joyful spirit and warm personality.

Wayne's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the joy of connection. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his children, Marsha "Susie" Weaver (Chuck) and Leslie Carpenter (Johnnie). He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Easton Cunningham, Slayton Cunningham (Laci), Tyler Cunningham (Elizabeth), Austin Scaife, and DeNee Cranford (Roger), a great-grandfather to Conley, Gauge, Peyton, Wesley "Marshall", Avanna, Dailee, and Lil A; a brother to Gloria Cunningham and Jean Connell; and an uncle to Donnie Cunningham (Judy) and Sidney Mason (Belvia). His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he consistently made an effort to create lasting memories with them all.

Wayne's warm and vibrant personality was complemented by his love for fun and adventure. He was known for his playful nature as a prankster, always ready with a joke or a smile to lift the spirits of those around him. He found immense joy in fishing and floating along Dog River, and he also enjoyed squirrel hunting, reflecting his appreciation for the great outdoors. As a dedicated Alabama football fan, he watched games passionately, sharing this enthusiasm with his family and friends. His punctuality was a trait much admired by his loved ones, as he believed that being on time was a mark of respect.

Wayne was deeply connected to his community. He often took afternoon rides with his sister and made it a point to be present for senior citizens, providing rides and companionship on countless occasions. His kindness extended beyond his immediate family, as he embraced friendships and relationships with a nurturing heart.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Estelle Mason, and his siblings, Roy Mason, Clinton Mason, Bo Mason, and James Mason. Despite their absence, his legacy of love and laughter will continue through his children and their families, ensuring that his spirit remains a part of all their lives.

A visitation will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Leakesville, MS, on April 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service celebrating his life with Bro. Donnie Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share their memories, and honor Wayne's remarkable life.

Wayne Mason will be forever remembered for his loving nature, his humorous heart, and the countless lives he impacted with his warmth and kindness. His family and friends will carry his memory in their hearts, committed to keeping alive the joyful spirit he shared so freely.
