Henry Wilson Hodge, Sr., 72, of Charity Chapel, Alabama passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a certified law enforcement officer for the State of Alabama. He had numerous jobs throughout his life and actually could be called a “jack of all trades”. He loved hunting, fishing and eating lima beans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee and Ida Mae Hodge; brothers, Preston Lee “P.L.” Hodge, David Arthur Hodge and Tommy Hodge; and his beloved pet, Flash. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 47 years, Anola Hodge; son, Henry Wilson (Stephanie) Hodge, Jr.; three daughters, Sherry Ruth Hodge, Rebecca Elaine Hodge and Teresa Lavon Hodge; thirteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Christine McDuffie and Carol Jane Johnston; brother, Chester Lee Hodge, Jr.; other relatives and friends. The wake will be from 6-9pm Friday, July 24, 2015 at Full Gospel Tabernacle. The funeral service will be 10am Saturday, July 25, 2015 with Rev. David Tarvin and Rev. John Helveston officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Chapel Cemetery with the honor guard from the American Legion Post # 164 providing the graveside service honors.
