Ida Virginia Byrd

Ida Virginia Byrd, 93, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center from heart problems. She was born November 26, 1926 in Mount Vernon, Alabama. She worked as a Foster Grandparent at Mount Vernon Head Start for over 20 years. She was the oldest member at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She loved being with her family especially her great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Villard Byrd, children, Villard Jr., Jettie, Hillard, John, and Steve. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ola Weaver, Ramona Byrd (Leo), and Glenda Byrd (Clyde); eleven grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and twenty-two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the funeral service at 12 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. George Weaver and Rev. Barbara Brewi officiating.
