J.C. "Jake" Carney, Sr

Mr. John Columbus "J.C." or "Jake" Carney, Sr., 77, of Citronelle died March 23, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired mechanic from the oil field and member of Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his son, John Carney, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. "Molly" Carney; three daughters, Sarah Carney, Sheila (Charles) Tadlock, and Sandra (Richard) Orizetti; two sons, Jay (Dana) Carney and Jimmy (Trish) Carney; daughter in law, Kay Carney; two sisters, Mary "Alice" Harris and Itaskah (Ben) Loper; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. A Wake will begin at 4 pm Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Church of God of Prophecy. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Monday, March 26, 2012 at the church with Rev. Brenda Smith officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jarred Carney and John Pritchett. Active pallbearers will be Ley Carney, Matthew Tadlock, Nathan Tadlock, Elliot Tadlock, Trenton Cooley and Mark McInvale. Interment will be in Frazier Cemetery.
