Jack Eric Byrd, a native of Mount Vernon and a resident of Springville, Alabama, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. He was 53 years old. Jack was born September 17, 1968, to Aaron Leroy Byrd and Minnie Lee ''Lucy'' Byrd. He was known for his love of fishing, leather work, coon dog hunting, antique car shows, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Leroy Byrd and Minnie Lee ''Lucy'' Byrd; brother, Clarence Chestang; and nephew, Stevin Weaver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynn Byrd; children, Erika Byrd (Joshua), Jack Eric Byrd, Jr. (Paige), and Thomas Aaron Byrd; stepchildren, Meagan Grimmett Washburn (Jeramey), Kiel Lee Sweatt (Anna), and Kaleb Hunter Sweatt (Katie); eight grandchildren, Jaxon Miller, Emaree Lumpkin, Jaylnn Byrd, Della Byrd, Braxton Lumpkin, John Washburn, Meriah Smith, and Jack Eric Byrd, III; brother, Kenny Chestang (Jacinta); nephew, Warren Chestang, Jr.; and other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held for Jack from 6pm until 9pm Friday, November 19, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 20, 2021, with visitation beginning at 12pm, at Simple House of Praise Church with Rev. Dunford Cole and Rev. Jessie Byrd, Jr. officiating.
