He also took great pride in being a father to his children, Denise McLain, Amanda McLain, Amy Dockery, Daniel McLain, and Angela McLain. He delighted in sharing moments with his twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and purpose throughout his life. The bonds he created within his family are a testament to his compassionate spirit and nurturing nature.

Following his retirement, Jake found great fulfillment in his passion for agriculture, becoming a blueberry farmer. This endeavor allowed him to connect with the land and share his love for nature, all while continuing to uphold the values he instilled in his family.
