James Brett Toomey, Jr.

James Brett “J.B.” Toomey, Jr., also affectionately known as Jay Bow to his mother, passed away December 14, 2019. He was 21 years old. J.B. went from a young boy full of energy who loved riding bicycles with his brother and cousins to a young father of three beautiful baby boys. J.B. loves his family immensley. His smile and laughter was contagious and he never met a stranger. J.B. was always willing to lend a hand because of his love for people. He was truly passionate about mechanic work and logging. J.B.’s work ethic was unparalleled and unmatched for today’s society. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Dot Toomey; great grandmother, Barbara Merritt; great grandfather, Paul T. Bradley; great grandparents, Louis and Lucille Simpson; grandparents, Lee Berry and Lillie Mae Simpson; grandparents, Travis Edwin and Ruby Denmark; and very good friend and mentor, Durand Rivers. J.B. is survived by his three boys, Grayson, Blayke, and Ashton Toomey; girlfriend, Victoria Curry; parents, Tara and Travis Denmark; brother, Skylar Toomey; sister, Joslyn Toomey; grandparents, Larry and Loria Toomey; great grandfather, Jack Toomey; great grandparents, Canary and Dick Newburn; aunt, Ashlee Toomey; uncle, Dickie Simpson; and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. A wake for J.B. will be from 6pm until 9pm Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 11am Friday, December 20, 2019, at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Don Lee and Bro. Sammy Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to cover the cost of funeral expenses.
